1970 First steps in pioneer tomato paste
In 1970, the late İbrahim Halil Kozlu, one of the local people of Gaziantep, and his 5 sons (Fahrettin, Hasan, Mustafa, M. Hanifi and Bilal Kozlu) started the tomato paste trade by buying and selling tomato paste, thus laying the first foundations of Öncü tomato paste.
The tomato paste trade was started by selling the local Antep tomato paste, which was purchased from the well-known, trusted villagers of Gaziantep and who did their job cleanly and carefully, to the people of the city both in Gaziantep and the surrounding provinces, both wholesale and retail.
The point reached as of 2013
Öncü Salça would like to thank its consumers for crowning its quality with the EU Quality Award in 2009, the Consumer Quality Award in 2010, the Reliable Brand Award in 2011 and the Eurasia Quality Award in 2012.
After the change made by the Ministry of Agriculture in the Turkish food codex, our company started to search for food packaging suitable for pasteurization. As a result of the research, we contacted the company in Japan that manufactures PET jar machines with vacuum capability suitable for hot filling. Upon our request, this company modified its machines and succeeded in manufacturing pet jar machines capable of vacuuming suitable for hot filling in the sizes we wanted. As a company, we became a solution partner by collaborating with the manufacturer at the project stage during the development of the machines. With these machines, which were developed in February 2015, we managed to carry out production activities in less than a year and offer our PET jar types suitable for hot filling and pasteurization to the service of users.
First export in the same year
Due to the trust in quality and the Acemoğlu family and the quality of the products, the sales volume grows considerably in a short time, and when it was understood that the demands coming from the tomato paste purchased from the villagers could no longer be met, the Acemoğlu family produced the traditional Gaziantep home tomato paste hygienically in the factory environment, which laid the foundations of the Öncü brand and will soon lead all world food companies in tomato paste. He decides to produce locally under these conditions and in 1998, the foundations of the factory producing the first local Gaziantep homemade tomato paste in Turkey are laid. Thus, for the first time in our country, local pepper paste can be made in a factory environment, with the same taste and under more hygienic conditions, without losing its properties.
Acemoğlu Gıda, which made its first export in the same year with the sales that started only in Gaziantep and its surroundings and the first factory established in 1998, soon became the leader of Öncü Salça by offering its Öncü products in the whole of Turkey as well as in Europe, Asia and the Americas and in more than 20 countries in total. It proves to be a leading organization in its field.
The product group, which started with the leading local Gaziantep home-style pepper paste, was expanded with the production of hot-sweet pepper paste and tomato paste, pomegranate flavored sauce, raw meatball set, chili pepper in PET, tin and glass packages, and continues to be enriched with the R&D studies is done.
